Believe it or not I was able to seek out a "POKEY" datasheet. The
"Pokey" is indeed the CO-12294 I was speaking of. The datasheet was a 50
page pdf and quite frankly was way over my head for the most part. I
understood the basics of the chip but I still cant figure out if it
would be a do-able project. The chip seems to have 4 voices on it from
what I gathered. I'll gladly e-mail the pdf to anyone interested.

I'd like to get a copy of that PDF file, if you don't mind. I have a few
old Atari computers laying around, along with some spare parts as well.
I have lots of technical data about these machines including full
schematics, and the assembly language source code for the machine's
internal ROMs! Can you believe that Atari actually sold that information
through retail stores? They did. If only modern PC's had that much
documentation available. Just as nice, I wish synth makers would divulge
the source code and schematics for all the computers used inside all the
synths.
Anyway, I've never seen a 50 page spec written just for the Pokey chip.
I'd really like to get a look at that.
Thanks,
Glen
