I'm posting to the list because lots of folks wanted to know about the
shoulder washers...
I got mine from
www.concord-elex.com
part #760-2020 Nylon Shoulder Washer... 3/8" hole 5/8"od, 1/2" shoulder...
.062 thick... .031 shoulder depth
And
760-2515 .062" thick 5/8" od.
I use one shoulder washer and one flat washer per 1/4" jack. This way I
can use
the Switchcraft 'Hi-D' jacks with the metal threaded bushings. I HATE the
plastic
body ones because they break and strip...
These shoulder washers are hard to find / get. I bought like 200 at a
time.. that comes
up to a chunk o' change. But they have really improved my life... using
them on an older unit allowed me to kill a ground loop that forced me to
use a transformer isolation box (that was $50 right there...)
Eventually I purchaced through Carlton Bates company... be warned that most
distributors are not going to want to hear you want 5 pcs... Maybe a
quantity buy for interested parties on the list might be a good idea.
THESE WILL NOT WORK in a 1/8" panel. You should calculate the stack up in
the panel of your choice. I've used them sucessfully in up to .090" thick
panels.
