[sdiy] Virus? let us die in peace.

Did I do the wrong thing? Though I knew it could have been passed onto a
number of Synth-DIY list members, should I have just sat back and done
absolutely nothing?
You imply that I'm not using a virus checker. I am indeed using one of those
'little digital condoms', and my little digital condom has a recent update
for it. Why this virus still got through undetected I don't know - maybe it
was incompetence on my side, or just crap software. Point is, despite my
efforts it still got me. So it could easily affect others. This virus was
apparently discovered only 7 days, so I just assumed certain software
installations might not detect such a new virus. And therefore in that
moment of panic, the first action I decided to take was to warn other
potential recipients, many of whom would be members on this list. If it were
an older virus, I wouldn't have seen the need to send the warning.
Sorry to cause you so much grief. My intentions were only in good faith.
I won't bother in future.
