I gave up twice (& gave my electronics stuff away!!) but, thirt time lucky,
& I'm past 50!
If you have a desperate inner need to solder music stuff, you should start
by making REALLY SIMPLE stuff like the guitar fx that you can get to from
the forums at www.firebottle.com/ampage
OK it says 'guitar fx', but, all this shit can have a synth run into it.
Make it modular, make it patchable. And, the guys there are VERY HELPFUL.
The ASM1 is a great synth, but I personally think a beginner should start
with something smaller, really.
Don't forget, 80% of the ckts on the net are faulty, incomplete, or
twitchy. (So are most of the ones in those big 1,000 ckt compilations).
