[sdiy] Nut Covers/Skirts and Blue LEDs

Hi folks,

I'm looking for some 3mm or 5mm blue LEDs which are going to be used to
indicate the rate of some LFOs. Anybody know of a good source/price for
such things? There seem to be many configurations to choose from via
Mouser et al, and I don't know which ones would work 'best'. Lens
color/colour can be clear, tinted blue, doesn't really matter.

Also, I don't know if such an animal exists but I'm looking for what I
could only describe as "nut covers".

I've got some groovy knobs I want to use on a special project, but they
are geared towards pots that are mounted to the pcb, not secured to the
front panel via a bushing and nut. Is there such a thing as a nut cover
that you could snap over the mounting nut to act as a skirt for the pot
and then put the knob on over that? The variable of course is the size
of that mounting nut.

If such a thing is available I obviously haven't been looking in the
right place. :0|

If I'm not making sense, let me put it this way: If I put the knobs on
the pot shafts, they will sit off the faceplate by the thickness of the
mounting nut for the pot, and that my friends isn't pretty in my book.
Having a nut cover would act and look like a skirt for the knobs, if you
see where I'm coming from.

Any ideas? Thanks!
