i did some stuff a while ago, using the blacet chip to generate pulses....

i used a 4017 to divide by 3, then a 4024 to divide by 8 or 32, selectable
by a switch.

(this gave me either 1 ppq or 0.25 ppq)

the output of the 4024 maitains a 50% duty cycle.

with those 2 chips, you can divide by 3 with the 4017, then use the 4024
(or similar) to get many musically useful clock pulses, at the flip of a
switch.
