Casey,
Here is a picture of a Theremax I built a while back that is in a metal case
(scroll to the bottom of the HTML screen). This was bought from Radio
Shack.

Beware, though, I found that having a metal case with the theremin type
instrument interfered with the antenna- I can't tune it up and then close
the case and play it, and so have to play it with the case open :(. This
is probably why Theremin cases tend to be made of wood. There are various
arts and crafts stores that make good plain wooden boxes (the ones around
here are called Ragshop). This would be your best bet for pre-made boxes.
