[sdiy] CAD circuit design and PCB layout software??

what are some of the companies that make circuit design and PCB layout software?

are there demos or , dare i say it, shhhhh (warez), versions of any of them?

i dont think ill be designing any ground breaking circuits anytime soon but as a beginner id really just like to check some out
