That was the Beatles that used the 50hz sync tone. Spectre probably didn't
do anything like that on the 1959 track. I bet they just recorded onto two
decks, "flanging" one or both with a finger, then lined them up on a starter
tone and hit play on both at once to bounce down to another reel.

My guess, anyhoo.
