If you've already decided to put a micro in why not go hybrid
for the controls? Replace the bulk of the pots with a rotary
encoder and a few switches for mode selection.
I've never liked the one encoder and 2 switches for an entire
synth but on a per module basis this seems like a good
compromise as far as usability, cost and panel area go.
