Your pictures are indeed a sight for sore eyes - Impressive!! I have fond
memories of the Synthi-A, a mate had one when I had my VCS3 and I was always
jealous that he could cart his around with him. The joystick however that's
something else: Don't quite know the hell can RS justify 27 quid ( what's
that? $40 or so ) for a pit of plastic and a couple of pots??? 
 
I was trying to source a cheaper alternative a while back but came up cold.
I have to say, it never ceases to amaze me how often we hear from our
cousins in the ex colonies stuff like "I just picked up a container load of
<insert anything useful at all here> for 25c each from a place just round
the corner.

What is it with us. Does everything of use end up in land fill. There used
to be 'surplus' electronics stuff everywhere - even in Exchange & Mart.
Where did it all go???

      I found good quality joysticks supplied by RS here in the UK. Used one
on my synthi A clone..take a look at pages below to see pics of it.
