Your nicely mixed cd has lots of great dynamic range. That commercial cd
has had the life squashed out of it with compression. Compressed all to
hell, they cut through the clubs better (and sound better over the radio,
and on peoples shitty TV speakers).
Of course, your cd will sound *much* better on a good home stereo.
