[sdiy] Replacement for 741 op amps??

    This is a very tough question to answer.  I would first try the
TL071.  In general, it is a drop in replacement, unless there is a pot
connected to the input offset terminals (in general, this is rare).
Trouble is, there are some circuits where the TL071 will do strange
things (such as in positive gain amplifiers, you do not want to exceed
the common mode input range).

    There are a whole host of other parts.  I think the OP-07 (my memory
is real fuzzy here, I am not even sure if I got this part right, I am
sure I will be corrected if I am wrong :-) , that are true drop in
equives, but much more difficult to locate.
