This works well. I have done this on an old Lowrey that used the old two
chip TOS arrangement. It even reduces the huge power that these old TOS
chip use. They all run warm, but the older ones are a prime cause for
global warming.

One word of warning though... the sharp edges of the TOS chip's outputs
get everywhere. Best keep that ribbon away from anything that will pick
up stray fields.
