If you're on a Mac try the utility that comes with Toast CD burning software
by Roxio, (they have a Windows version... is it CD Creator?)

Also there's some clean-up included in the fantastic shareware program
SoundStudio from Felt Tip Software www.felttip.com you can also find it
and others for Mac & PC at the audio section of the free downloads on the
TU Cows network. www.tucows.com Highly Recommended!

Good Luck!

I have successfully used Cool Edit 2000 with it's Audio Cleanup Plugin.

appear to be program dependent. You do need a silent groove for reference.

Subject: [sdiy] A record question..

Can anybody recommend a good program for removing the pops and clicks from
vinyl recordings while converting them to CD? I'm trying to make CD copies
of much of my vinyl collection.

Also, does the success of these programs depend on the type of source
material? I'm going to be working with stuff like Thrill Kill Kult, KMFDM,
Pig, Minor Threat. Will I have more trouble converting less melodic/more
noisy material like these with good quality than, say, my copy of
switched-on-bach?
