[sdiy] phaser and lfo

Howdy Solderfreaks,

I found one of the old gears I made when I was a child. It's a 6 stage
phaser built using LDR and lightbulbs for the variable elements. Back then I
was not satisfied with its sound, but after changing ceramic caps into polys
and the 741 into tl071 it now sounds a lot better. (damn, I was surprised
what a different that makes. Especially the opamp upgrade).

The lightbulbs that affect the LDR's and thus control the phase shift are
all driven by the same LFO. I wonder how a phasing effect would sound when I
would use different LFO's per stage. Maybe using a triangle vco with 3 120°
shifted outputs and drive two stages per lfo.

Has anyone ever tried something like this? The idea is so obvious, but I've
never seen a phaser schemantic where more than one lfo is used.

  Nils
