Oh, god, yes -- I gave up on them around '97.

I wrote them a couple of similar letters, and their response was pretty much
" everything is so inexpensive these days, only losers go for DIY any more.
And anyway, software is SO much more interesting..."
(Ok, I'm paraphrasing;  but they missed the point several different ways, 
and they came a long way down from the days of Anderton).
