I have something like that. They work pretty well. With a little
logic they are easy to use as linear X-Y voltage control.
But they are easy to break. If for some reason something sharp
edged will touch the screen, it's dead. It happened to one of mine.
I bought some of them (really cheap, about 4 EUR) and wasn't
too carefull.

For ribbon controller replacement it's excellent. Just apply voltage
to 2 contacts, and take position CV on one of other 2.
