[sdiy] Programmable pulse gen - reason behind my madness.

OK, this one went like a snap. Sure wish everything went this easy.
If you remember, I posted anote about the insanity of using a 4053 to create
a square wave from any other waveshape. Thanks to all that got back. Many
made very polite comments accepting it would work, but there were much
better ways to derive a square than using the NC of the 4053 switch at
ground and the NO at whatever high voltage, in my case set by a pot or by
voltage control.
But there was a reason behind my madness...
The root of this circuit is a CEM 3374 set up as an LFO, using many parts of
Scott Bernardi's dual 3374 VCO design, with some changed cap values (thanks
to Paul Schreiber's kind suggestions). I run the triangle out of that into
the 4053 as an enabler creating the square, and then through it again this
time controlled by a flip flop. It gives me a programmable start/stop pulse
generator via the Buchla one that was hardwired to their sequencers. I
figured using the 4053 to do this was the absolutely the easiest way to go.
It allows me to run short phrases of pulses with few modules involved
(actually, one).
The start/stops can come about either manually or by external pulses. I am
electing to bring the3374's ramp and triangle out to the faceplate (why
not) so I have pretty much a solid VCO with a programmable pulse out.
Drew this up during the morning coffee and had it running two hours after I
plugged in the iron. I'd be happy to send schemo's to anyone who's
interested. For me, it's a very useful utility tool.
best,
Peter
