Nathan,

You can use an inkjet and get fine results, you do have to spray a top-coat
or spray-fix or acrylic.
Use Glossy, sticker stock, set your printer for glossy stock and Best
Quality Printing. Put in a new ink cartridge. You can get opaque colors
with great resolution on the legending.

regards,
p

[hello, i'm new here - thanks for the excellent reading recently..]

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned here before, but i have been
getting very nice front panels by printing from a laser printer in reverse
onto high quality overhead transparency sheets. Then you stick to the
printed side good double-sided adhesive like Jac, or the artist grade
tape, and stick it directly to the front panel.

It looks best with white (clear) text on a black background, since the
adhesive appears as a whitish silver (depending on what you stick it to of
course). You can also mount LEDs directly behind the adhesive for nice
looking flush leds.

but hey it may even be possible to use with a colour inkjet onto inkjet
transparent or perhaps colour laser onto laser transparencies - i have not
tried this.

If anyone is interested in seeing examples i can scan some in.

Nathan.
