Perhaps I'm being too subtle/blatant. This is not a criticism of MOTM or
Paul, it's a criticism of their critics. A parody of the terminally
unsatisfiable, if you will. The entire rant was inspired by both the
current thread here as well as another one that's going on the MOTM list
right now. I was particularly inspired and amused by that "where are the
new features?" article that someone posted a link to--I definitely had that
guy in mind.
The point is that there are plenty of utterly clueless people going around
saying this, that, and the other thing about MOTM (or whatever). I
deliberately wrote a send-up that's as stupid as possible, but I'm sure one
of these "experts" will come up with something that's even
stupider--despite the fact that it takes hours to write a first draft of a
rant like this.
I might also mention that I'm not interested in starting pointless flame
wars, but I have to blow off some steam every once in a while. I don't dare
attempt it anywhere else but on THIS list, which is the coolest by far.
And if all else fails I fall back on the excuse that I'm ADHD and the
madness overtakes me at times...
