Unfortunately I can confirm this. One fader on my 2642 will need replacement
(although it is perfectly useable right now) and I have a feeling that one
of the channel input gain pots has snuffed it, too.

I bought this thinking I was getting some quality German engineering but,
um, apparently these are made in China or something. Then again it's
second-hand and I don't know how much use it's had.

As for differences between versions of the 2642 - Behringer told me that
it's just the colour of the enclosure, and 'minor changes'.
