I've had 1602 for about ten years, no problems except the external transformer broke after couple of days of use (yes, it gets hot, which is good IMHO, at least the heat goes somewhere and won't destroy the regulators, maybe you could put an extra HS there where it's hottest?). I replaced it with two 18V AC quite heavy transformes (for 2x18AC output). I think that the PSU's are insufficient, the output level / current required for live mixers is much more than for home/studio use. All people using B. mixers live will tell you the same story.
