I second this... altghout I call the knife something completely different.
It is usually not very hard to scrape of the mask layer, but you might want to
make sure you have a clean scrape or else getting a good soldering may be hard
to do (depends on scale). The solder mask is much softer than the copper,
something you learn the hard way after also trying to cut the copper trace.
This distinction is however good to know, so don't be too light on the hand
with the knife.
