While I would also be happy if the quads had the power pins reversed,
I'm really happy to have another choice of a package outline.
I *do* use quads rotated by 180 degrees when I'm using them
together with duals and singles (no problem if you stuff your
boards yourself - I'm not selling kits (;->) ), so I have the
choice of two adjacent opamps pointing into the same direction
(one side of two duals) or into mirror immage direction (one
side of a quad.) I'm using whatever helps to keep the connections
short and easy. As a 3rd option, I can use SIL opamps, but I've
only done this once, on the Moog Filterbank Clone. SIL opamps
are *really* helpful if you want to have easy routing. Too bad
that they are rather expensive and harder to get.
