[sdiy] buying resistors

Yo,

I do pretty much what J. La does, but with 5% values.
I never thought to use 1% values. I didn't want that
many bin boxes. I guess you could get the closest 1%
values... Larry's method works for me, too: whenever I
need some value and it's not there, I write it on my
order pad. Then, after Hell freezes over and I have a
job again, I place an order for all the stuff on the
list.

One thing I learned: Stay away from carbon composition
resistors. They are nasty buggers. I only use carbon
film or better.
