[sdiy] IC socket question

Hey Harry... I didn't realize turned-pin sockets had less contact force
than dual leaf - always learning, I am. Oakley kits recommend these types,
so that's the direction I was originally going. The MilMax ones I've been
considering have gold contacts as you suggest, but tin sleeves. I was
curious about possible metal interactions.
Now, I've seen on this list that some believe that dual leaf (and especially
single leaf) types are inferior to turned-pin. But I have also heard that
the Diplomate sockets are better than most, and your comments have confirmed
it.
Thanks -as always- for your input.
Cheers,
George
PS: Doesn't Tyco own AMP? Hmmm.. maybe that explains getting f'd over. ;)
