Y-ellow All.
First of all, I'd like to apologize to anyone who's sent mail
expecting a response and hasn't got one. The new mail server(s) went on the
Hollings (the Fritz) some time during the week and I've been randomly
receiving my mail by way of /dev/nul. IE: not at all.

But here for your thorough amusement and edification, we have the
outstanding winner of the messiest, most disorganized, workbench
competition. Possibly of this or any other century. In fact possibly since
man first evolved out of the trees to ponder if the filament was 6 or 12
volts. I am humbled in it's staggering unworkability. Without further adue,
I give you the work bench from hell by our very own Terry Bowman.

This may look like a deceptive pile of boxes at first but the actual boxes
are some 4 feet away from the front edge of the bench. For your convenience
Terry has supplied a photo of the useable area on the second page. Don't be
fooled by it's meagre 5 square inches of surface space. An entire modular
synth can be built in that space. Of course if that was to be done there
wouldn't actually be a space any more but you'll note, there's always the
ironing board.

This work of art took some 6 years in the planning and development stage
and another 4 years to produce. I belive the Smithsonian institute is
interested and the only reason it's not in the Guinness book of records is
because no auditor can actually get close enough to take any measurements.
There are plans afoot to use NASA's satellite radar technology to make an
accurate topographic survey later in the year and the US navy is offering
the use of some new depth sounding technology to get to the bottom of the
situation. Good luck!

This work bench cannot be seen from space but that's only because it's
obscured in a rather large basement in Norther Virginia.

And finally I'd just like to add that I've been in almost bliss tonight
listening for the first time, to the amazing Electrolux on my new -almost
fully functional- surround sound system. There is nothing sweeter than an
Electrolux up the sweet spot. Bravo.

Be absolutely Icebox.
