Just thought I'd throw in 2 cents here as several years ago I used these 
exact parts on several modules.  In the field, they got dirty and 
scratchy within a year.  They have required semi-regular cleaning but 
are still in use today.  I believe it was slots in the back (for the 
detents) that caused this.

Of course, in your application, that noise probably wouldn't matter as 
long as you had a healthy RC on the way into the ADC.
