In Europe (and especially germany) I would recommend Reichelt Electronik
(www.reichelt.de) LM3900 cost 49 eurocent a pop. (sorry for the
advertisement, but I'm just amazed over the price difference).
Besides - The LM3900 where the first type of opamps I've ever played with.
They where part of my kids electronik experimentation kit (from phillips,
maybe someone else remembers). The only thing I still know about them was
that you need lots of 1M resistors around them. Lots more than you need when
dealing with "normal" opamps. I even remember how happy I was when I found
out how easy to use the µA741 is.
