okay, now that this works...
i have recently purchased the Frostwave Resonator. this thing is fantastical. being an analog unit, it accepts external control from voltage controllers. being a guitarist as well as a synth guy (and yes, this sounds really cool on guitar), having CV pedals would be ideal. the trouble is, there aren't any "active" CV pedals out there. they all control the voltage within certain instruments via TRS cables. for example, Syntaur makes a CV pedal, but it only controls the voltage within Ensoniq 'boards. you get the idea. any company that makes CV pedals nowadays have designed them to be passive send-return units - these pedals are not powered and cannot actively control voltage going to any particular analogue unit.
paul perry at frostwave told me how to control voltage using a guitar, a cable, a 9v battery, and a volume pedal. seeing as how i'm running into a pedalboard with the resonator at the end of my direct signal (after volume, wah, and distortion), i wouldn't want to fool with voltage flowing through all of my pedals, which are already powered.
sooooo... my queries are as follows:
1. does ANYONE know if true active CV pedals exist anymore, i.e., those which can actually control the voltage going into a unit?
2. if so, where can i get two? :-D
3. if not, does anyone know how to make one?
thank you!
