I had heard some of Paert's choral stuff before, and I liked it (sometimes), but
then I discovered his "Tabula Rasa" album and was completely blown away!
No choir here (no electronics either (;->) ), but piano, prepared piano, violin,
and a small chamber orchestra. In one piece, "Fratres", the pianist is Keith Jarrett,
but my absolute favorite is "Cantus (in memoriam Benjamin Britten)".
And the long title track "Tabula Rasa" with prepared piano, bells and sparse
orchestration is Ambient music par excellence. Highly recommended !
