I use a Fox and Hound setup. This is a small tone generator and a pickup
that looks like a logic probe with a speaker. Last one I got was $50 and
should be available from any good electronics supply house.
I also use this for tracing wires thru wiring bundles inside equipment when
I dont want to unlace everything.
