Actually that only applies if the other brains are at least as functional as
your own.  :)

One of the most irritating things for me, is to work around someone who knows
absolutely nothing about the device I'm servicing, and insists on telling me
how I should go about my troubleshooting. I know some people like that, and
some of them actually get visibly irritated if you don't seem to be taking
their unsolicited advice seriously. Sometimes, it really is better to work
alone.

I should add that this mailing list is about as far from that situation as one
can get. There are a lot of smart and helpful people here. It's just too bad
that most of us live so far apart from each other. It would be interesting to
see all of us in the same room at once.
