[sdiy] CV pedal for Filter Factory

Hi Folks,
    How do I make a simple CV circuit for use in a footpedal?  Do I need
some kind of active circuitry, like a buffer amp, or can I get away with
just a pot and a voltage source?  I've already got an empty footpedal
shell and would like to run the whole thing off a 9V battery if
possible.  The Filter Factory has a CV input for the filter frequency,
and gives no specs other than that it's 1V/oct.  Thanks.
