3080 is the first OTA that was massproduced. It's not the cleanest sounding
device, but has a lot of charm. More recent additions to the family are the
LM13600/700 and CA3280, both of which are dual and have better distortion
characteristics.
Supposedly both of the latter have been obsoleted, though I'm not too sure
of that.
Mouser had NJM13600s last time I checked. Digikey used to sell 3280s, but
didn't couldn't find them there about two months ago. Ocean state
electronics (surplus dealer) has them for under $2.00, which is a steal.
It's also possible to make a decent OTA using transistor arrays, such as the
CA3046 or members of the THAT family.
