[sdiy] MIDI question

Yo,

I just hooked up my nifty new midi kbd to my scope,
and guess what I found? The thing transmits a short
pulse when nothing else is going on. Is this some sort
of sync thing? Is this the din sync thing I keep
hearing about? If so, what does one do with this
pulse?
