Mark & Co.,

Yep. A CPLD is anarray of gates & flip-flops which is
configured by loading bits into an internal flash
memory. Those bits come from a software tool where you
can draw a schematic it gets compiled down to said
bits. I find it very cool and handy because I'm lazy.
The thought of soldering chips together all day
depresses me. If I gotta glue that many chips
together, it had better be for nachos!
