[sdiy] Output circuit

Hey guys,

after the synth is all done, with what do you output the sound? Is it just a 
speaker with a resistor, or is it something more complex? If it's only a 
speaker, is there anyone you guys suggest? If not, does anyone have a simple 
circuit they can show me?
