[sdiy] dial graduations

I can't speak for Freehand, but Illustrator has rotate tools. What I do
make a line and copy it 10 times or whatever. The rotate each copy a
different amount, for instance 30 degrees, then 60 degrees then 90, etc.
then I align all of them on both axises. Works like a charm.
Am i missing the problem here?
