[sdiy] Hi! and help!

Probably not much help, but...
I saw something like that in old Keyboard magazine dated 1997
or earlier. There was an ad of company selling strips of photo sensors
that can fit under piano keyboard. That system was able to send MIDI
messages (with velocity data, of course) while played on real string
piano.

__Hi to all. I'm brand new at this place, and I accessed for one simple
__reason: I'm trying to build a sensitive midi keyboard
__controller out of an old piano keyboard. The purpose is to
__get one of those suckers since they are too expensive to me,
__and I wnat that good old feeling of piano playing.
__Has someone out there done this, or know about a place where
__I can get info?
__I apologize if I'm in the wrong side, but I'll apreciate if
__someone gives me
__a hint on this. Thanks.
