Something like "Synth-DIY pricewatch" would be cool, but a lot of work. For
a lot of purposes, just knowing a potential source for a rare part is a
great help, even if prices aren't monitored in the referral database.

I don't think vendors would have to be barred from posting to such a
resource, if they were only posting factual data such as inventory or price
data. However, I honestly doubt that most vendors would take the time to
participate. This project would probably have to be handled by a dedicated
Synth-DIY'er with a lot of spare time to give to the project (especially to
get it started).
