In all seriousness, I say go for it.
I am also considering building my own custom mixer. Yeah, it may
cost more, but you can make exactly what you want. But I don't really
have any specific suggestions. Sounds like for what you are planing, IC
opamps might be best...just have to pick one that will fit the bill.
