[sdiy] BBD Packaging experience?

Hello all,
MCM had some BBD's for a pretty fair price (not as good
as Tiptop Electronics, though). I ordered some
MN3207's and some MN3102's.
I have to say, I wasn't entirely thrilled with the
packaging. The MN3102's were in conductive bags (pins
weren't in foam, but I'd consider this adequate
packaging). However, the MN3207's were just tossed
into a what I hope is at least an anti-static bag. No
conductive foam, and even a few bent pins on a couple
of the chips. Heck, I've gotten the radio shack mini
echo mixer kits that had similar chips (CD3207,
CD3102), and they had these chips' leads embedded in
conductive foam *with* aluminum foil wrapped around
that.
I know the difference between anti-static packaging and
conductive packaging, but for very sensitive parts, I
would at least like to keep all the leads at the same
potential before use, even if it is inside a material
that supposedly won't generate a static charge.
I'd like to check the chips out to see if they're
functional, but I'm at a point in time where I don't
have much time to do anything for a few weeks.
Aren't these BBD's supposed to be rabidly ESD sensitive?
Has anyone received BBD's with similar packaging, and
if so, how did things work out?
Just wonderin......
Scott
