I still have and use a 25W Antex 240V soldering iron. I like it. I'm
used to it, and it does me proud. If I need cooler, which I do need with
all this water clean flux solder, I just bung it on my variac and set
accordingly. I did have a Weller TCP for a long time, and I wasn't
overly impressed with what it did for the price.

I also still prefer to wire up cable and plugs with rosin/ersin based
solder. Veroboard prototypes are also made with this stuff; its more
agressive than the no clean solder, and vero looses its shinyness very
quickly with handling. The no clean stuff I reserve for final PCB
assembly only and PCB repair work.
