I have an orange Weller soldering station(unregulated). Its a model WLC100.

IIRC, An unregulated iron loses heat as you are soldering, so the
temperature moves around a lot on you. A regulated(aka temp controlled) iron
can sense heat loss and adjust to always keep the tip at the selected
temperature.

The prices look reasonable to me, but shop around. Someone on the list may
know where to get soldering stations cheaper. Anybody suggestions?
And speaking of stripboard, another list member, Brock Russel first pointed
out RP electronics to me because they have big pieces of stripboard(8x15")
fairly cheap.
