MECI has the 25 pole position ones used for parallel port switching on
surplus dump for $1.95 each.
I still would not do it.

You can scour the thriftshops for those old "data switchers" that switch
between serial i/o's. They have 12-pole rotary switches or something of that
order, though their quality may not be great.
