Peter,

Was it the  DOD 575.  ( http://www.muzique.com/schem/dod575.jpg )

This is an interesting device as it uses the SAD512 for the CCD delay, a
NE571 compander to increase the S/N thru the CCD device and a CD4007 as a
voltage control "clock".

Projects like these are fun and can result in some very useful capability!
