[sdiy] Aluminium Solder

Batz,

There are products that claim to solder aluminum but I am skeptical.
Aluminum oxidizes very fast so that there is always a thin layer of oxide on
the surface. Adding heat for soldering insures that the surface oxidizes.

When aluminum is welded, it is done with an inert gas, usually helium,
surrounding the area being welded to keep the oxygen out.

Glue?

Take care,
John
