This is just a short message to let all of you know:

DO NOT DEAL WITH NICK PELKEY. EVER.

I paid him $670 (via PAYPAL) for a mixer on July 30th. For the
next month, he sent infrequent and vague emails, finally admitting nearly
a month later that he had not sent it. In the emails he told me that it
was shipped, and later that he even had the tracking number in his car;
after that, he said his girlfriend shipped it, and finally, that it had
not been shipped at all.

I demanded my money back at this point, since he hadn't shipped
the mixer. Three days later, he posted that he'd been "robbed".

Since then, I've asked him several times to send me my money back,
finally setting an ultimatum of today (9-30-2002) to get my money back to
me in full. I have not yet received ANY MONEY from Nick, and the only
response I've gotten from him are some near-incoherent emails about how
he's living on a couch and that he plans to pay me back.

When I told him (on August 30th) that he had a month to pay me
back, he acted offended, telling me that he would definitely pay me back
within two weeks. Of course.... nothing.

The whole story is rather long and drawn out (I'm not posting
private emails between Nick and myself, just to save the trouble...) but
the core of the matter is that I am going to have to pursue legal means to
recover my money. I have his current address and information for the
police department and city government in the town in which he lives, so I
urge anyone who's dealt with Nick recently (good or bad alike) to contact
me. As I understand it, he had several other ongoing deals at the same
time as mine, so I'd like to know what has happened with those.

I am going to talk with a lawyer this week and find out the best
way to deal with this, but most likely i will end up filing charges of
mail fraud, and recovering my money through small claims court.

If you have lost money to Nick or had bad dealings with him, let
me know, as I will keep you updated and let you know what to do if you
would like to do the same.

	Thanks,
	Andy
